The spiritual vision, which gave birth to Asbury Towers Retirement Community, remains at the heart of who we are. Because our residents come from such a wide variety of denominational backgrounds, we also seek to work with each resident's home pastor if that is possible and the resident desires it. Whether it is you or your family member who comes to Asbury Towers, be assured that the overtly Christian nature of our mission means that the spiritual aspects of life will be attended to with the same degree of care and dignity that every physical need receives.

A Protestant chaplain is on staff. The chaplain is available for spiritual and religious counseling for residents, their families and staff. Our chaplain also presides at our worship and vespers services. Worship services are held on Sunday afternoon's at 3 p.m. and the vespers services are held on Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Worshipers gather for each service in the Third Floor Chapel. Residents from all areas of the community are welcome to participate in these services. Residents are also invited to share their gifts of music or hospitality for the enhancement of chapel life.

Communion is shared on the last Sunday of every month during the 3 p.m. Worship Service.  Additionally, the pastor and congregation from Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church celebrate Communion with all the residents on the second Thursday of each month at 3 p.m. Finally, communion is available throughout the week, in individual rooms, for those who request it.

Memorial Services for residents are conducted twice a year—during Lent and on All Saint's Day in November. The Chaplain is also available to help with individual funeral arrangements for families who have lost a loved one.

For residents who would like to nurture their spiritual life in a local congregational context, there are a variety of welcoming congregations within a short driving distance of Asbury Towers.
